Book accurate Crowley post ep6

Crowley isn’t Lucifer or Raphael. He’s Baraqiel.
@angelic-bee-enthusiast made this post that got the gears turning.
Exhibit A:
Baraqiel is in this for a reason. He’s also a (sic) ginger. And a Dominion, which explains Crowley being able to open Gabriel’s file. Angel of the Sky could refer to the marvels that Crowley put in the sky for the humans to watch every night.
Exhibit B:
Exhibit C:
In Judaism, Barachiel is an Archangel. He is also one of the Princes of Heaven. I don’t think Metatron was referring to Lucifer during Gabriel’s trial.
“It’s gotten to the point where I think a lot of people can’t believe it if they get a residual for $25,” O'Brien said. “They’re so used to opening those envelopes and it’s 30 cents.”
O'Brien, who has appeared on dozens of shows, from “Grey’s Anatomy” to “Pretty Little Liars,” shared images of residual checks from more than two decades ago worth $47.49, $87.77 and $216.25. Others, from the past few years, amounted to $1.63, 43 cents and 1 cent.
Lower residual payments mean fewer actors earn the $26,470 per year needed to qualify for SAG-AFTRA’s health insurance coverage, said actor Michael Spellman. The union said about 14% of its 160,000 members currently meet that threshold.
Really important info for anyone thinking this is a “rich people strike”
Hi Neil,
This is a Terry question, not a GO specific question; I recall while we were both on twitter, just after Terry passed, you corrected a fan who had presumed he was a whimsical, silly lil guy. You said Terry was angry, perhaps even said he was always angry. My question is, as his close friend, did you ever observe how Terry avoided being consumed by anger during his life? I too am quite angry and rather debilitated by it of late, and would enjoy a dose of your pointed advice if it suits you.
Here’s an article I wrote about that before Terry died, and my answer to your question is in there.

After having the conversation multiple times about how many people (myself included) had stopped writing for years until the Sandman on Netflix came along and grabbed us by the neck.
And after watching the screaming reactions to Good Omens season 2, (and all the meta and analysis and thoughts about plot structure, and suggestions for what makes sense for season 3.)
I have decided that Neil Gaiman’s secret agenda is not the screaming or the angst.
I think his secret agenda is to make us all WRITE.
Gooooood morning everyone! And happy clown week!
episode 5 is the smaller scale showdown of season 3
so yea i’m theorizing on main.
s2e5 is my favourite, and i think that it acts as a very thorough second act mirroring the final third act.
what i mean is that The Ball serves as a small-scale rehearsal on the Final Showdown of season 3. There is Aziraphale, working to organize the whole meeting at the bookshop=Heaven.
The meeting is seemingly to forward the agenda of the Whickber Street Traders and Shopkeepers Association= for the universe to go along the Great Plan.
No one but association’s chairman Brown (from Brown’s world of carpets)=Metatron actually wants to talk about “the council’s proposed rubbish collection times”=the Apocalypse, but once the Winter Street Lights campaign=Second coming is on the table, Nina=Aziraphale has things to say. Which is why Nina=Aziraphale will attend the meeting even though their partner just left them and (because) Crowley yelled at them.
I think the people invited to the association meeting represent the main supporters of Aziraphale on season 3:
-first is a lone person, who Aziraphale tempts to attend the meeting (and bring three friends!) by promising them a book. I think this is Muriel, who not only gets to indefinitely live in the bookshop, understands just how kind and loving Aziraphale truly is. I’d like for the three friends she has to get to the meeting to be Gabriel, Beelzebub and Crowley.
-then there is the magician, who is dearly in love with their spouse. These lovers I believe are Gabriel and Beelzebub. Aziraphale promises to loan them a book=hide Gabriel in their bookshop until he learns his magic=memories from inside them. (sidenote: this also works as an analogy on Gabriel’s change of character: the 1941 shopkeeper of the establishment sold Aziraphale a fatal trick=old Gabriel tried to kill him, both of which Aziraphale and Crowley could only work together to trick themselves out of).
-third is the unnamed shopkeeper Aziraphale speaks fluent Chinese with. She attends the ball without issue and speaks at length with the Head seamstress=sex worker. I, like many others, believe this to be(/represent) God Herself.
-fourth is the French restaurant owner Aziraphale doesn’t listen to in order to show off his version of French. She gets frustrated with Aziraphale’s insistence to speak “correctly”, or the old way. This is the one I had most trouble figuring out, but I think she represents all of humanity, which Aziraphale has time and time again tried to influence with outdated teachings/morals. Crowley even disapproves of this.
-the last person we see Aziraphale invite is Nina, who I’ve already equated to Aziraphale himself. It is essential that Nina/Aziraphale is in the meeting (they have things to say!), but Aziraphale sure is conflicted, both on screen and in the future (I believe).
- as the Ball begins, we see the Head seamstress/sex worker enter the bookshop. She asks Aziraphale for why he invited her, but we never see him actually do it. He isn’t quite sure what her ladies do, but he is certain she is a pillar of the community. I’d like to believe she represents Jesus (the friend of sex workers!). She is why I associate the the unnamed shopkeeper to be God. This analogy also puts more depth in her telling Crowley “You’re a good lad”.
- It doesn’t take any convincing from Crowley for Maggie to attend the meeting, but Maggie=Crowley sure take their sweet time preparing to meet Nina=Aziraphale again, arriving only as the meeting is already running.
-why shouldn’t ethereal beings get a say in the Etheral Plan? Demons=the war between Demons and Angels arrive just as Maggie=Crowley make their way into the bookshop. (i’m not smart, I could not figure any deeper meaning to this)
Almost everyone one the list has received something noteworthy from Aziraphale. Obviously there are love, compassion and protection for Crowley, Muriel, Gabriel, Beelzebub and humanity, but war also received his flaming sword and God/Metatron his work and reports. What comes to Jesus (or Aziraphale himself!), I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
I’d like to think this season is going to focus on Aziraphale having to /getting to live with the results of his compassion and love for humanity. Last time it was him and Crowley protecting the world form the End, and I’d really like the world to return the favor.
bonus thoughts:
-as Maggie=Crowley enter the bookshop/Heaven (which we see in the same shot), they both go first to Nina=Aziraphale. Dancing=romanticizing as they are planning on how to survive the evening. I really hope they keep the romance in the next season.
-chairman Brown arrives only to be told that this meeting is for love, actually, we won’t be needing your chairs=weapons. Also the Demons=war killing Brown=Metatron is something I’m willing into existence.
-I think the whole Gabriel revealing himself in that silly little coat&suit is going to be the reveal of Crowley’s angelic past. I’d like to think “my name is Jim short for James, short for Gabriel” will be “My name is Crowley, new for Crawley, new for Lucifer”.
stealing this from a radfem because my original tags were too funny to just let that stop me. anyway “you can be anything” is a sentiment which includes “becoming single”
